Leslie A. Vogt, M.A., psychotherapist, therapist, counselor, educator
"If it were not
for where I have been, I would not be here, where I am now."
After 30 years lost with the
wanderings of myself in my family, a corporation and the world, I am now a
counselor. I had to do my own therapy to discover my Self and in the
process confirmed that with conscious and mindful living there is a place
for Self everywhere in the busy-ness of life! Now I am
committed to assisting all who desire a balanced, rich and fulfilling life
through healing, growth and love in achieving the same sense of Self.
Curiosity of the human psyche and
the Mother Earth connection, spirit and soul work and a contemplative lifestyle
has allowed me to blend my personal love of movement, all sentient
beings and the outdoors into a rewarding counseling and psychotherapy practice. My
practice gifts me with people who prefer to work in different ways, from
traditional office settings to those curious about how horses help people
in various clinical and nature settings. All who participate with the
horses agree that there are incredible benefits in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
As the person of horses Mali, Miraaj and Sunny, I attest to the magic of their instincts!
With a 35 year practice
of meditation behind me and as a student in the Buddhist traditions
of Shamatha and Vipassana Insight meditation, I now teach Mindfulness
Meditation as A Way to Be Here Nowin
the communities surrounding my home in Franktown, CO. I
am a Reiki Master in the Usui tradition and offer Reiki energy
healings for horses and humans. Volunteer work at the Douglas County
Women's Crisis and Family Outreach Center, Praying Hands Ranch and as a naturalist at Castlewood
Canyon State Park is a way in which I am able to give back to the
community.
Miraaj is my first horse and as a young filly showed me what it really means to love without conditions. My reward is a beautiful horse with incredible instincts who communicates with me in ways that keep me curious ~ always. After a rocky start in life she could have been shy and distrustful of horses and humans; instead she is smart, rock solid and responsible.
Mali is an exacting teacher. Smart, ultra sensitive, honest and cautious with her heart. She is an exotic beauty who exudes a confidence she doesn't really have. Everybody is attracted to this horse who can sense the real you every time.
Sunny came to us late in life as a retired show horse with a quiet confidence. His talents are many, but he has a real fondness for pulling a cart around the neighborhood when not working with clients. Heads turn when he is prancing down country roads pulling his fine, red cart!
